This is so silly its brilliant! A must-have for any iphone owner

Absolutely brilliant, no question. But why is not the iPhones number printed in the dial? Start up time could be shorter.

I like the idea but I found that it didnt always work exactly as it should. On some numbers I found myself over-dialing to get the number that I wanted (it shows the number value as your rotate). I think it would be also good if the delete button didnt delete the whole number when make a mistake - just the last number entered. If these area could be improved I would use it without a doubt.

Nice idea and seemed very exciting at first. However it does not work correctly most of the time and delete key needs to delete only 1 number. I also feel that the ui could look a little better. (not an image of a real phone). Hopefully with some work this could turn out to be a really great app.

Great image - very old school. Fun concept. It seems to work right for me. But wheres the sound? thats whats missing for sure.

What could have been a cute and fun app gets destroyed by an almost impossibly difficult UI. Still a kinda-sorta neat gimmick that outlives its fun factor very quickly.

alrite...when i got this app, it was free and when i was told there was an update for it, i knew it was going to inprove it so i wanted to get it, then i noticed that u have to pay 0.99 cents for it...i want to get the update but am i able to get it for free since i already had the app? i want to know before i do it and is it worth the 0.99 cents?

Downloaded the app while it was free and befor the update. Now I RETRO DIAL all the time! Works exactly how its suppose to. Worth the money.

Ever since they feature this over the net, i know i need to have it .... just for old time sake. Not to mention a good conversation piece everytime i pull it out to make a call, never fail to impress both the old and the young.

Other than the fact that it sometimes tries to make the call before dialing is finished, it seems to work very well. Keeping in mind that it is a novelty app, I think its well worth a buck, at least for people like me who remember rotary dial phones.

Overall great application and works perfectly! For some reason when I use this app for about five minutes I see randomly dropping coins on my screen, I can move them around but I cant take them out, is this supposed to happen?

Ive used this app since day 1 and its the best of its type. So far the author has resisted adding stupid extra features that people ask for, or putting advertisements in to cash in on their sucess like others have done. Recently it was significantly updated, and while nothing has been irretrievably destroyed, none of the "improvements" really add much. Extra "skins" have been provided but they are all simple drawings and almost identical to each other. None of them are a patch on the original skin which is thankfully still available. While it would be nice to have a dial thats a bit cleaner than the original, without the photo-realism it just doesnt work. For me the only reason to buy the app is nostalgia, so making it look and work just like the old phones did is way more important than adding features. The only thing thats (sadly) been completely ruined with this update is the icon. I had to move the app to the very last page on my iPhone because its just so ugly I cant stand to look at it. Keep up the good work, but please bring back the original icon!

Works exactly as advertised. I didnt give it five stars because they have not offered any updates for as long as Ive had it. It would be nice to have more photorealistic dialers to choose from, such as the 70s Northern Electric "Contempra". It would also be nice to have my own phone number displayed on the dialer instead of the "555" number. And lastly, it would be nice to disable the annoying coin that drops down the screen when you rapidly press the backspace key. That said, it is still worth $0.99. I look forward to getting the ThinkGeek Bluetooth retro handset to use in conjunction with this dialer!

I bought this little app just for the steampunk skin. It works the way I expect it to, and I love the sounds. Well worth the ninety-nine cents. I suppose (from the comments I see here) that I came upon the app after some improvements have been made, so Im glad the developer(s) are listening. Well, reading.

The dialer doesnt rotate when I move my finger in the screen, it just stays at zero or appears at another position Conclusion: doesnt work the way a rotary dialer works

Now this is the kind if creativity Ive been looking for in an app. Its bloody brilliant! Well worth the buck!

I use it on the guy at work who constantly asks to use my phone. For the next update please allow the "original classic theme" to change the number on the rotary dialer, so you can put your own number there 
