Rotary Dialer App Reviews

I gave a lot thought to the rotary dialers available, and this one came out a clear winner from what I can tell due to the crispness of the user interface, neither too spartan, nor too complex. This app makes dialing fun, and helps me to learn and memorize phone numbers. While there arent many skins, the Rotary Dialers Steam Punk Skin is Classic and the only one you need! I dont know if this is possible, but once completing a call, it would be great to return to the Rotary Dialer, and not the built-in Phone app. I am guessing this problem occurs with any of the dialer apps. Another feature Id like is the ability to toggle an option so that if you screw-up, you have to start over, like the real phones. This is the next best option to wiring the iPhone to an actual rotary phone!

A great app that is fun to use, responsive, and works exactly as its supposed to. The sound syncs nicely with the dialer, and an added plus is that you can delete a misdialed numeral, rather than having to start over like on a real rotary fun. I thought I would only use this a few times and get bored with it, but to my surprise, I find myelf using quite often. Its a quaint reminder that Im old.

Weve gone so far with technology, sometimes we need to take a step back. This does just that. And then theres a dime in it, too.

What a fun app. to have. I was thrilled to find this. Makes my friends laugh and strangers stare when they hear me dialing a number. Friends want to use my phone just to play with the rotary app.

Does not replace regular phone key pad, I thought it did. PLEASE!!! Make so that it can look up contacts on phone, like normal key pad. It is way to hard to remember every bodies phone #. So far not worth $0.99. Can i have my money back please.

It is what it is. It does what it does,...but I wish the sound was more authentic. It sounds a bit "computer generated" . Its alright. Ehh

Different SFX tracks for each skin and on the original skin, it would be awesome if you could display your own phone number on the label tape.

Why did a quarter randomly show up on my screen while I was dialing someone though?

I may just purchase some Skype credits just to use it, but could you look into making it compatible with some of the VOIP apps available on the App Store? I have Line2 in mind, if Im allowed to name names...

Love this...... Fun for us older folks who grew up with rotary dial. Works great too! I put mine on my first page of apps, right next to my texting app on my iPhone.

Useful? Not at all. Entertaining? Absolutely! This app in its current form has no connection to the phone book, so you must dial whomever you would like to call. But for calling familiar numbers, it is an absolute hoot. Worth the $.99 just for the novelty.

The Rotary Dialer was the first app I purchased when I got my first iPhone over 2 yrs ago. I saw it on the news and couldnt wait to get it. What a cool app!

Cool concept..but the sound effects need to change, it need the old style sound of "shadadadada..ding"

It will very good idea to add google talk, yahoo, and others for flexibility, Using skype only will be a monopoly. Thanks.

I love this app! I have the new iPod that u can talk and FaceTime with without a microphone. I bought this app thinkin I would be able to call, and it wont let me! I think u should be able to call from your iPod ! A message keeps saying "calling is not supported with this app" PLEASE FIX ! if u have an iPod then its NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY!!!

Love the Steam-punk theme. I grew up using dial telephones, and this app brings a smile to my face...because im SO GLAD we never have to use those miserable, lousy dials ever again! I mean, you kids have no idea what a drag it was to spin the dial around to the correct number, wait until it slowly rotated back again, spin it to the next number and so on, until you finally got six numbers dialed, then totally BLEW it on the last number by dialing just a bit short, jamming down the receiver button, and having to do it all over again! Stinking ancient technology!!! Anyway, where was I? Oh, yeah-great app. Takes me back.
